Rosemary Deane
Rosemary has made a career in libraries and museums but has been an artist all her life, doing painting, printmaking and lately focusing entirely on collage. Originally from Auckland, she now lives in Rotorua. She has undertaken short courses in printmaking with Jenny McCabe and Deb Wing in the UK (online and in person) as well as short courses here in New Zealand.
All her illustrations are done in the medium of collage, by painting her own collage papers and cutting them out.
Rosemary specializes in New Zealand birds and landscapes but is also interested in plants, food and ceramics for her subject matter. Her favourite collage artists are Mark Hearld, Clover Robin and Ruth Chapman
