Christine lives in the Wairarapa, New Zealand. She trained in Graphic Design at Wellington Design School and then worked as an art editor and illustrator for School Publications in the 70's.

Christine spent several years in London where she became fascinated by the intricacy and detail in Indian and Persian miniatures in the galleries - this led to the development of her own meticulous illustration technique.

She has illustrated books for Scholastic, Reed, Methuen and Houghton Mifflin, and illustrated many school readers.

Christine has been awarded the Unesco Noma Concours Award, the Russell Clark Award and the Aim Childrens Book Award.

Stories that appeal to Christine are real life situations mixed with a touch of fantasy.
