Brian Lovelock

Brian Lovelock is a New Zealand-born illustrator, living in Auckland.

He works mainly with watercolour and acrylic ink. He is highly regarded for his strong compositions, use of saturated colour and the imaginative perspectives that enliven his illustrations. His artistic interests include picture book illustration, poster art and fashion.

Brian's first picture book, Roadworks (by Sally Sutton, Walker Books) won the 2009 New Zealand Post Book Award for Best Picture Book. He also won the 2014 Russell Clark Medal and was a finalist for the 2019 International Nami Concours.
