Pinar Ekinci
Pinar Ekinci was born and grew up in Turkey. She studied Visual Communication and Design in Turkey and obtained her MFA in Illustration in San Francisco. She now lives in New Zealand.
Her illustrations are whimsical, dreamlike, fantastical, magical and conceptual. Her inspirations are from Turkey’s culture, childhood memories, mental and physical health and nature. Her aim is to illustrate moments, concepts and stories that make people deeply connect with themselves and see things in a positive perspective.
Pinar uses Photoshop, watercolour, gouache, colour pencils and markers.
She has worked as a TV concept artist, an editorial artist and has illustrated for a Turkish publishing company and for Huia Publishing and the Ministry of Education in New Zealand.
